Class Representatives – Lower School

Lower School Class Reps will work with the Parents’ Association (PA)/ Lower School VP and Deputies and together with the other Class Reps as ambassadors helping to connect families and foster a greater sense of community at Dwight-Englewood. 

Responsibilities include:

-Communicating and promoting school and PA events to families in your grade (i.e. Parent socials, Bulldog Bash, etc.) and encouraging participation and attendance nurturing the relationships amongst families and the parent community;

-Participating and assisting in on-campus and in-class events throughout the year (as requested by the administration and faculty);

-Facilitating communication between the PA and school administration and families in your grade through communications approved by the school and PA;

Assisting with the logistics of the fall parent social including inviting parents to the social and attending the event;

-Acting as the point-person for the grade for school administration and the PA; and

-Volunteering at on-campus events such as the LS Book Fair, Fall Fest and Carnival and Parent Affinity Group sponsored activities.

 

Class Representatives – Middle School

Middle School Class Reps will work with the Parents’ Association (PA)/ Middle School VP, administration and together with the other Class Reps as ambassadors helping to connect families and foster a greater sense of community at Dwight-Englewood.

Responsibilities include:

-Acting as the point-person for the grade for school administration and the PA;

-Working together with the grade level Dean to plan the Fall/Spring Parent Forums including developing an agenda that reflects topics of interest to parents, drafting emails inviting parents to the Forum and reminding them of the event as it nears;

-Assisting in the logistics of the fall parent social including inviting parents to the social and attending the event;

-Planning the spring parent social, if desired; 

-Regularly draft emails to be sent by the PA to the families in your grade regarding upcoming dates of interest and other grade specific communications; 

-Volunteering and participating in PA events;

-Contacting and helping new families to the grade with questions and the transition process into D-E;

-Reps will be responsible for identifying a grade-wide event to be supported and embellished by the PA (in conjunction with the grade level Dean). For example, providing treats, decorations or snacks- i.e. churros for the 8th grade presentation; hot chocolate for 6th grade skate day, etc. These events and embellishments are subject to approval by the Dean and Principal.

-8th grade Class Reps will have additional responsibilities in connection to graduation activities which may include help with planning an 8th grade dance or coordination of the 8th grade moving up gifts.

 

Class Representatives – Upper School

Upper School Class Reps will work with the Parents’ Association (PA)/ Upper School VP, administration and together with the other Class Reps as ambassadors helping to connect families and foster a greater sense of community at Dwight-Englewood.

Responsibilities include:

Acting as the point-person for the grade for school administration and the PA;

-Assist the grade Dean in planning a fall and spring parent forum including coming up with a list of relevant topics and potential speakers; 

-Assisting in the logistics of the fall parent social including inviting parents to the social and attending the event;

-Planning the spring parent social, if desired (9/10/11th Grades only); 

-Draft emails to be sent by the PA to the families in your grade regarding upcoming dates of interest and other grade specific communications; 

-Volunteering and participating in PA events;

-Contacting and helping new families to the grade with questions and the transition into D-E (for 9th and 10th Grades) ;

-Communicate with the Upper School VP regularly regarding issues, comments or questions expressed by parents;

-9/10th Grade- Help in planning a student social event;

-11th grade- Help in planning of the Pre-prom event at the end of the year (on campus);

-12th Grade – Help in planning and execution of several end of the year events and traditions for students and parents as well planning the Pre-prom celebration.
