Please join NYC-Parents in Action as we learn from one of the foremost experts in Emotional Intelligence, Marc Brackett, Ph.D. Dr. Brackett is founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and professor in the Child Study Center at Yale University. His presentation will focus on innovative strategies for developing and harnessing the power of emotional intelligence in our children.

Dr. Brackett is the lead developer of RULER, an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning that has been adopted by thousands of schools. RULER applies a “hard science” approach to teaching what have historically been called “soft skills:” recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing, and regulating emotion. In his talk, he also will expound upon his most recent book, Permission to Feel, which uses science and storytelling to inspire a new mindset around the value of emotions and how to unlock their power in adults and children.
