6th Grade “Parent Talk” Facilitated by Parents in Action
Thursday, October 17, 2019 7 pm - 9 pm
Parents Talking to Parents
This discussion is not a Parent Forum and there will not be members of the faculty attending.
“Parent Talks” are facilitated discussion groups dedicated to an individual grade. The talks are led by NYC-Parents in Action (PIA). Each year PIA coordinates over 250 Parent Talk facilitated meetings in participating New York City area Independent Schools.
Parent Talk Facilitated Discussion Groups provide an opportunity for parents in the same grade level to come together to talk about a variety of issues they face as parents. Our meeting will be spent discussing topics important to and generated by us. Subjects at Parent Talks can range from bedtimes, television and friends in the lower grades, to safety in the streets and online, unsupervised parties and experimentation with alcohol in the upper grades – and everything in between. Any topic apart from changing school policy is fair game. Parents in Action Facilitators will be there to guide our discussion. If there’s an issue you’d like to hear discussed, please reach out to one of your parent reps so they can forward it anonymously to the PIA Facilitators.
NYC-Parents in Action is an independent, not-for-profit organization that, since 1980, has encouraged communication between parents and children and among parents.
Please note that this event is for parents only.
